Mina Tanios, MD is an orthopaedic fellowship trained spine surgeon serving patients in southern Michigan and northwest Ohio.  Dr. Tanios specializes in comprehensive surgical care of the spine in adults and children. 

His clinical interests include the treatment of a wide range of spine pathologies using techniques ranging from minimal invasive spine surgery to complex spinal reconstructions. Many of the patients are first treated non-surgically with treatment modalities such as physical therapy, medications, and interventional pain management before surgical options are considered.  His philosophy is to take care of patients with respect and compassion.


Dr. Tanios is a native of the Los Angeles, California and obtained both his undergraduate and medical degrees from University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency training at the University of Toledo Medical Center.  He completed the Spinal Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, MD, where he received extensive training in both minimally invasive and complex deformity reconstruction .


He is passionately committed to advocating and serving his patients. He is currently an Assistant Professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Toledo College of Medicine.  His research interests focus on surgical outcomes in spine deformity patients.
